Jonathan W. Franklin

Franklin is named on lists of clergy with allegations of sexual abuse against them in the Archdiocese of New Orleans, the Diocese of Baton Rouge, the Diocese of Alexandria, and the Diocese of Birmingham. He has worked in multiple locations, including New Orleans and Alexandria in Louisiana, Savanna and Atlanta in Georgia, Pensacola in Florida, and Cullman in Alabama. Franklin was removed from the ministry with the Archdiocese of New Orleans in 1959 following an allegation of child sexual abuse. Franklin was later accused for allegedly abusing a boy in Alexandria, Louisiana in 1966. There was a settlement related to this accusation in 2005. It is noted that Franklin moved to Cullman, Alabama in 1975. Franklin later took on a temporary assignment in Pensacola, Florida and was accused of abusing a minor boy in 1986. Franklin committed suicide that same year.
