Gerard Joseph Howell
Ordained: 1964
In 2018, the Archdiocese of New Orleans publicly named Howell as credibly accused of sexual abuse of minors. Specfically, Howell has been accused of sexually abusing multiple students at a school for the deaf in the 1960s and 1970s. Howell was primarily affiliated with the St. Francis de Sales Deaf Center in Baton Rouge, LA. He returned to New Orleans in 1981 and was removed from active ministry by the Archdiocese in 1992.
