John Basty
Ordained: 1908
Named in 2018 by the Archdiocese of New Orleans as admitting to or publicly accused of sexual abuse of a minor. The abuse reportedly occurred in the 1940s and was reported in 1946. Basty served as pastor at St. Borromeo from 1918-1949, continuing to serve after he was accused of sexual abuse. He also reportedly served a role in the parish school in 1929. He died in 1956.
