Ernest Fagione (Faggioni)

Ernest Fagione was a Salesian priest who worked at Hope Haven, a church-run orphanage in Marrero in the 1940s, 1950s, and 1960s. He also served as treasurer of Archbishop Shaw High School in Marrero and as assistant Pastor at St. John Bosco Church in Harvey. Fagione was accused of sexually abusing minors in the 1950s and 1960s. A lawsuit was also filed alleging Fagione abused a boy at Shaw High. The plaintiff in that case alleged that he was 14-year-old freshmen in 1968 when Fagione sexually molested him and forced oral sex on him. The plaintiff accused Fagione of abusing him for years. Fagione died in 2006.
