James Benedict

Ordained: 1939

Named in 2018 by the Archdiocese of New Orleans as credibly accused of sexual abuse of a minor. The Diocese received allegations in 2003 of abuse occurring in the late 1950s. Benedict, a Diocesan priest, died in 1984.
